A Big Week For Youthworx!
This week has been a big one for Youthworx!
First and foremost, welcome to the latest batch of students to join our certified media training course! Our certificate two and three courses kicked off this week with the classroom in full swing. We’re always on the look out for new students so if you, or someone you know, is interested in learning about how to make film and media, then you should definitely give our youth worker Zoe a call and see whether it’s the right course for you!
Lesley Pinder has recently moved into a new role with us here at Youthworx. If you remember, Lesley headed up the fantastic “Our Voices” project last year working with newly arrived migrants and refugee young people to create films about their lives and experiences. In her brand new role of Community Engagement Facilitator she is making contact with organisations and community groups to help grow our Open Access services, make connections, and offer media workshop services to young people to help tell their stories. If you have some young people who you think may benefit from some media skill-building workshops, get in touch!
Productions is rocking along with some exciting new projects in the pipeline with John Holland, Jesuit Social Services, VACCA, and Southern Program Alliance to name but a few. Our team of producers has been joined by the latest trainee, Nathaniel. Welcome to the team! All of our young producers are honing their skills and really bringing their A-game to the work they’re doing.
2019 is going to be a fantastic year!
