Lesley Pinder – Our Voices Project Coordinator

Lesley is an experienced filmmaker, arts coordinator and workshop leader/creative practitioner. Lesley is coordinating and facilitating the 2018 Our Voices project for young refugees and young people from newly arrived communities.

Lesley is passionate about community and collaborative filmmaking and believes that it is a wonderful tool for assisting and supporting the development of vulnerable adults, children and young people. She is particularly interested in working with people from socially excluded or disadvantaged backgrounds and marginalised communities. Lesley has facilitated a wide variety of filmmaking projects and her participants have come from all walks of life (including homeless and socially excluded adults, young carers, disadvantaged young people, ex-offenders, care leavers, recovering addicts, people living with disability and elderly adults).

Lesley brings a wealth of knowledge and experience with her, with over twenty years of professional experience in the film and television industry. As a Director, Lesley has directed a daily drama series for UK television, short films, corporate productions, EPKs, in-house promos, live concert events, and a children’s television pilot episode. She also worked for eleven years as a Script Supervisor on feature films, television programmes and commercials.

Lesley has recently returned to Melbourne after nearly 18 years living in London and is loving rediscovering this great city!
