Accredited Training
In partnership with JMC we offer a Certificate III in Screen and Media accredited training for young people up to 25years who experience social economic disadvantage or hardship. Our classroom model has Youth Workers, Job Pathways Coordinators, Media Industry Professionals and Teachers working together to provide layered support that is designed to create the best possible opportunity for young people to tap into their own inherent creative potential.
Youthworx is all about engaging and developing young people’s skills in the world of media. Students have creative control over writing and producing documentary, short films and radio shows. The curriculum is focused on film production, radio broadcasting, photography, social media, work readiness skills and media industry knowledge. All students participate in presenting a weekly radio show for SYN 90.7 FM. As well as radio, students work on individual and group film and documentary projects gaining hands-on experience of media creation. Youthworx students have the opportunity to complete paid industry experience.
